History of Margaret Leask Memorial English School Jhansi

The school was established by the missonaries of the Presbyterian Church in Canada in July 1981 with Kindergarten and class I only. One at a time classes were added till presently we have classes from Nursery-XII [I.S.C.]
Margaret Leask Memorial English School & College is a co-educational Institution providing education through the medium of English. It is named after the Canadian missionary – Late Miss Margaret Leask who helped to make this school a reality. It is affiliated to the Council for I.S.C. Examinations, New Delhi Pupils are prepared for I.C.S.E., (Year-10) and I.S.C. (Year- 12) examinations.
It is primarily a day school but a few students attend as boaders also. It has a very spacious hostel (for girl students only) under the charge of a capable matron.
Admission is granted to all irrespective of caste, creed, sex & religion with preference to the Christian Community.
The school has been established on Christian principles. In opening exercises and moral education classes, children are made aware of the lessons taught in the Bible.
The main aim of the school is academic excellence, the formation of the child’s character, the inculcation of the habits of discipline, truth and honesty. It is our desire to see students become happy and loyal citizens of India, bearing excellent moral character and able to take their place in society, armed with many different skills.
